Under a Tree is a round for two or more voices set to a sweet, evocative poem by American poet Helen Hoyt, whose poetry explores nature, gender, and the body and whose work as an magazine editor helped create space for women's voices. This poem paints a familiar picture to anyone who has nestled under the shade of a favorite tree.

Suitable for two or more voices, this round is part of my collection of Gathering Rounds, a spiral-bound book featuring 52 rounds for a variety of skills and voicings set to text by female-identifying writers and poets. Every month, a free round is uploaded here and distributed to my email list (join my email list here)!

Please feel free to copy, forward, distribute, and perform this round with attribution as the only requirement: link to my website, tag me on social media, and use the hashtag #gatheringrounds.
